That is an increase of 14.1 percent from the previous year when patrons checked out 515,565 items. |

| 9/26/2024 | Livingston Parish Library participating in new program urging public to visit Louisiana’s State Parks | Beginning in October, Livingston Parish Library cardholders will be able to visit Louisiana’s State Parks as part of a pilot program designed to get people exploring Louisiana. The new program, called Check Out Louisiana State Parks, officially launches Tuesday, October 1. It allows library patrons in participating parishes to check out a day pass for any state park or historic site at no cost. The program is a partnership between the State Library of Louisiana and Louisiana State Parks. The Livingston Parish Library is one of 18 public library systems participating in the pilot program. |
| 12/13/2019 | Livingston Parish Library Announces Elimination of Overdue Fines and Outstanding Debt to Increase Library Access | Livingston Parish Library (LPL) is excited to announce a new policy to eliminate overdue library fines and remove outstanding debt for library patrons. As of December 1, LPL has eliminated overdue fines on all library-owned items currently in circulation; removing barriers to basic library services and resources. In October 2018, the Library announced the elimination of fines on all teen and youth accounts. With the announcement of this new policy, LPL becomes one of the first public library systems in Louisiana to eliminate fines for all patrons, joining a growing movement in the United States to abolish fines for overdue materials. |
