This marks the second consecutive year that the Library’s Comic Con has drawn more than 2,000 attendees, showing the event’s soaring popularity among the Livingston Parish community. This year’s event was held at the Denham Springs-Walker Branch on Saturday, March 29.

2/27/2025 Livingston Parish Library circulations soar in 2024 Livingston Parish Library patrons totaled nearly 600,000 circulations in 2024, which represented a huge year-to-year surge in overall circulations. From January through December 2024, LPL patrons checked out approximately 588,402 items, which includes both physical and electronic materials. That is an increase of 14.1 percent from the previous year when patrons checked out 515,565 items.

The Livingston Parish Library (LPL) will host the 9.5th Annual Comic Con on Saturday, March 29, 2025. Comic Con will run from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Denham Springs-Walker Branch, located at 8101 US Hwy. 190, Denham Springs, LA 70726. People of all ages are invited to celebrate their favorite fandom at this free event, which is open to the public.

The record set in 2024 blew past the previous mark, highlighting the escalating popularity of digital content at the local level.
12/16/2024 Livingston Parish Library collects 3,818 pairs of socks in holiday sock drive More than 3,800 pairs of new, unused socks were donated through the Livingston Parish Library as part of the 20th Annual Sock It To Me! Holiday Sock Drive. Held every year during the holiday season, the Sock It to Me! Holiday Sock Drive takes place in the Greater Baton Rouge area, covering East Baton Rouge, Livingston, Ascension, Pointe Coupee, Iberville, and West Baton Rouge parishes.

2/26/2019 More Than 26,000 Livingston Parish Students and Teachers Enrolled in New Library eCard Program The Livingston Parish Library (LPL) is pleased to announce an exciting partnership with Livingston Parish Public Schools (LPPS) that will provide all Livingston Parish school students and teachers with immediate access to the library’s digital resources and services through its new eCard program. The program automatically enrolls more than 26,000 LPPS students and teachers into the library system.
9/26/2024 Livingston Parish Library participating in new program urging public to visit Louisiana’s State Parks Beginning in October, Livingston Parish Library cardholders will be able to visit Louisiana’s State Parks as part of a pilot program designed to get people exploring Louisiana. The new program, called Check Out Louisiana State Parks, officially launches Tuesday, October 1. It allows library patrons in participating parishes to check out a day pass for any state park or historic site at no cost. The program is a partnership between the State Library of Louisiana and Louisiana State Parks. The Livingston Parish Library is one of 18 public library systems participating in the pilot program.
12/13/2019 Livingston Parish Library Announces Elimination of Overdue Fines and Outstanding Debt to Increase Library Access Livingston Parish Library (LPL) is excited to announce a new policy to eliminate overdue library fines and remove outstanding debt for library patrons. As of December 1, LPL has eliminated overdue fines on all library-owned items currently in circulation; removing barriers to basic library services and resources. In October 2018, the Library announced the elimination of fines on all teen and youth accounts. With the announcement of this new policy, LPL becomes one of the first public library systems in Louisiana to eliminate fines for all patrons, joining a growing movement in the United States to abolish fines for overdue materials.
